What to do in Severe Weather/Tornado?
GPS challenge of the week…What to do in Severe Weather/Tornado? Do you know the difference between a Severe Weather/Tornado watch and a Severe Weather/Tornado warning? A watch means conditions are favorable but not occurring or imminent versus a warning which means conditions are occurring or are imminent.
During, a Tornado event please seek shelter away from windows, in an inner room/office, get low to the floor and cover your head and neck with your arms. If you are driving, stop the car and get into a low-lying ditch.
If you experience or see a safety concern on your assignment, please contact our Safety Hotline at 803-760-1441 or contact your local GPS office.
