Meet The Team!
Nanci Fields
CEO, President and Co-Owner
Nanci began working with GPS at the age of 18 as a part-time clerk while attending college. Little did she know that part-time job would turn into a life-long career in staffing. She was promoted through the ranks to eventually land as the CEO and President in 2017. In early 2023, she became co-owner, along with COO, MJ Sorrell, upon completing the buyout of GPS from founder, Charlie Gallman.
Nanci was blessed with role models who molded her into a servant leader, willing to give of herself such that others may thrive. Nanci understands the workings of GPS from all perspectives and possesses a unique ability to evaluate, understand and bridge the differences. She is an analytical driver by nature with a passion for helping and growing those around her to achieve their full potential.
Nanci currently resides in Gilbert, SC with her husband. She has a daughter, a son, and a grandson, who fill her heart and inspire her every day. She is a member of The American Staffing Association and the SC Staffing Association. She serves as a Director for Temporary Services Insurance, Ltd., as Chair for Temporary Services Insurance Risk Control Committee and on the GPS Board of Directors.
Mary Jane Sorrell
Chief Operations Officer and Co-Owner
With GPS since 1988, MJ has seen a lot of changes in those years. What has not changed is the family-first, “do the right thing” values that are at the core of GPS. After starting as a Staffing Coordinator in the Columbia branch, MJ has worked her way through various Operations/Human Resources positions to her current role as Chief Operations Officer supervising the temporary/temporary-to-hire side of GPS’ business along with our direct hire division, Gallman Consulting. In early 2023, she became co-owner, along with CEO, Nanci Fields, upon completing the buyout of GPS from founder, Charlie Gallman. MJ is a member of the American Staffing Association, Key Staff Group and the GPS Board of Directors. An Indiana native and Purdue University graduate, MJ is thrilled to have moved south as soon as she could and currently lives in Chapin with her Boykin Spaniel, Cooper. MJ loves her Lord, her families (home, work, church), the beach, and burying her nose in a good book. Oh, and dark chocolate!
Andrew Smith
Marketing Guy
Andrew grew up in a small town before making his move to Rock Hill to begin his journey through college. Here, at Winthrop University, he received his BA in marketing. Additionally, this is where he met his wife and continues to live with their first-born, Bennett and Doxle, Thor. Andrew continues to adapt and evolve in the ever-changing world of marketing and strives to better himself with each day ahead.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He also enjoys playing video games online with his buddies. He loves putting a smile on your face. He’s even willing to share his smile if you have misplaced yours 🙂
Barbara Greene
HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) Compliance & Training Director
Barbara’s daily mission is to safeguard GPS employees by sustaining a culture that promotes safety awareness. Barbara joined GPS in 2015. In 2017, she transitioned into the newly-established position of Safety Specialist. Since then, she has played a pivotal role in fostering a sustainable safety culture at GPS, making significant strides towards this goal. Barbara has also been proactive in advancing her safety career, earning recognition as a knowledgeable and respected Safety Professional. In her personal life, Barbara and her husband, David, enjoy spending time fishing and camping with their family.

Crystal Johnson
Regional Account Manager
Crystal Johnson, Regional Account Manager, with GPS since 2005, possesses an in-depth understanding of the staffing industry. She prides herself on providing superior customer service and is dedicated to meeting the needs of each client with urgency, precision, and complete professionalism. She holds a MA degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University and a BA degree in Sociology from The University of South Carolina. She is also an ASA Certified Staffing Professional.
Debbie St. Mark
Client Relations Specialist
Being a second-generation HR professional, Debbie was once a client of GPS. She knows firsthand the exceptional way GPS takes care of their staff, their field employees and their customers! With GPS since 1995, Debbie’s job responsibilities have included Business Development, Team Management, Operations, Administration, Sales & Marketing, Safety, and Client Relations. She loves to travel and enjoys living on Lake Murray with her husband George and doggie son Miles.
Georgette Sandifer
Director of Placement
Georgette was born and raised in Columbia, SC. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and remains an avid Gamecock fan.
Through her ever-expanding relationships, she finds top talent for Manufacturing, Construction, and Engineering industry clients. She has been recognized by one of the largest recruiters’ network in North America on multiple occasions both for high levels of successful placements as well as integrity and commitment. “There is perhaps nobody who exemplifies Top Echelon Network membership better than Georgette Sandifer of Gallman Consulting.”
Prior to Gallman, Georgette was involved in corporate travel services for more than 20 years. She was part of a national customer service training team, corporate travel management, and established contacts with major manufacturers and other customers throughout the US. Georgette joined Gallman Personnel Services in 1999 as a Business Developer and later started the direct hire division – Gallman Consulting. She works with candidates, recruiters, and clients throughout the United States applying her own high expectations of customer service and integrity to the business.
Giselle B
Branch Administrator
Giselle is our newest Branch Administrator. Recently married, she relocated from Fort Lauderdale with her husband and their dog, and she is excited to call this area home. While new to both the community and the staffing industry, Giselle brings enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to her role. She is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the success of our team while discovering all that this new chapter has to offer.
Haleigh Marcolini
Account Consultant
Haleigh is the Account Consultant for GPS servicing multiple areas of South Carolina. Apart from maintaining meaningful relationships with present and past clients, she assists the Operations Team with recruiting and employee retention. Haleigh believes in the power of positivity and strives to make a difference each day. Her proven skills in communication and problem-solving serve as an asset to ensure GPS’ mission statement is a true testimony. Haleigh is a graduate of Clemson University with a BA in Music Studies and a Minor in Psychology. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the violin, piano, guitar, and songwriting.
Karen Smith
VP of Human Resources
In the HR field for over 37 years, Karen Bedenbaugh Smith, SHRM-SP, PHR, CSP, has been on staff with GPS since 1998. Her journey through the staffing industry is truly full-circle—she’s been a GPS client, a temporary employee on assignment, and now a long-standing staff member. For Karen, HR isn’t just a profession, it’s a passion! In addition to handling HR for the GPS staff and employees, she is very involved in SHRM on both the state level and local level – she calls it “Volunteeritis”. Karen is also involved in her church – standing member of the choir, serving as lay assistant, served on council and for her crafty side, she makes banners for children when they are baptized.
An empty nester in Gilbert, Karen, a Winthrop graduate and her husband Charles have a son, Andrew and his wife (both Winthrop grads) along with their first grandson, Bennett; and a daughter, Alexandra, (another Winthrop grad) who is married and serving in law enforcement. In her spare time, Karen enjoys shopping, crafting, experimenting in the kitchen, and watching movies.
Kayla Watson
Recruiter
Kayla is originally from Greenville, SC, and made the move to the Orangeburg area in the fall of 2024. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Anderson University, where she discovered her passion for working with people and building meaningful relationships.
Her career in staffing began in the summer of 2018 as an intern, and she officially returned in the fall of 2019, where she has remained dedicated ever since. Over the years, Kayla has developed a strong passion for helping individuals find the right job opportunities while also supporting companies in achieving their goals. She is committed to honesty and integrity in all that she does, and she takes pride in building trust and lasting connections with everyone she works with.
Outside of her professional life, Kayla enjoys spending time with her loved ones and pets. When she’s not with family, you can often find her tending to her garden, exploring museums, or indulging in a shopping spree. A lifelong Disney fan, Kayla even had the opportunity to participate in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World in the spring of 2019, an experience she treasures deeply.
Lisa Godwin
Regional Account Manager
Being a Texan at heart, Lisa Godwin relocated to Hot Springs, AR in 2010 to be closer to family and was fortunate enough to join the GPS family shortly thereafter.
As Regional Account Manager, Lisa manages the operations of our Hot Springs office as well as our Tucson office. She has over 20 years’ experience in the staffing industry. Her main focus is to ensure that our clients are given the highest level of customer service possible and to serve as an advocate for our employees.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys being with her grandchildren, gardening, getting together with friends and travelling.
Lori Gerbracht
Recruiter
Lori is a Recruiter for the Tucson and Hot Springs offices. She provides excellent customer service for the Arizona and Arkansas candidates. She enjoys working with people from two different demographics. Lori prides herself on helping others by actively listening and providing detailed information. When not at work, her favorite things to do are spending time with her family and planning her next adventure to Disneyland.
Mekhaia Sims
Branch Administrator
Mekhaia serves as the dedicated GPS Branch Administrator for all SC GPS offices, where she excels at providing exceptional customer service to applicants, employees, and fellow GPS staff members. Since joining the company in July 2024, she has embraced her role, thriving in the supportive environment GPS fosters. A proud mother of three daughters, Mekhaia treasures her life in Newberry. When she isn’t busy at work, Mekhaia immerses herself in her passion for cooking and cherishes the moments spent creating lasting memories with her loved ones.
Ralph King
Recruiter
Ralph is a Recruiter for our SC offices. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, he brings a strong academic foundation and a passion for people-centered work. Ralph earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Resources with a minor in Marketing from Winthrop University, following an Associate degree in Marketing from Midlands Technical College. This combination has provided him with a unique perspective that blends strategic HR practices with creative marketing insight.
Ralph is committed to supporting organizational success through effective talent management, employee engagement, and thoughtful communication. With a focus on professionalism and continuous growth, he strives to contribute positively to both company culture and long-term goals.
Smith Richardson
Regional VP of Sales
With GPS since 2008, Smith has touched many facets of human resources during his career in the staffing industry, including recruiting, business development, employee relations, training and project management.
As Regional VP – Sales, Smith manages client accounts, sales and growth opportunities for all divisions of GPS.
As a Recruiter within GPS’ Direct Hire Division, Gallman Consulting, his focus is on helping our clients’ save time, effort and dollars on attracting, screening, and retaining top quality candidates.
Previously, Smith worked in public relations and marketing for a well-known retail real estate development company. He is also a past Affiliate Liaison of the SCMGMA – Lexington Chapter and a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Columbia and Lexington, SC and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications.
Sue Ellison
Payroll/Billing Specialist
Sue is the Payroll/Billing Specialist in GPS Jobs’ accounting department. With GPS Jobs since May 2012, Sue enjoys working with people and solving problems. She has two children, a daughter and son, both married, along with one grandson and many grand cats and grand dogs. Sue and her husband share their home with two dogs, a silky poo and a papillon mix. When not working, Sue can be found reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Suzanne Young
Corporate Administrator
Suzanne is a graduate of Midlands Technical College with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science. After working with BellSouth for several years, she stayed at home to raise her two children. Returning to the work force, she has been with Gallman Professional Services, Inc. since 1990 on the Corporate Staff in Columbia, SC.
Suzanne has handled numerous responsibilities throughout her career at GPS. From Administrative Assistant to the President and numerous accounting functions, she now focuses on our 401(k) Plan Administration. In addition, Suzanne handles the Essential StaffCARE (MEC) Insurance Enrollment and the Affordable Care Act maintenance and Form 1095 annual distribution.
Suzanne has lived mostly in the Columbia, SC area. She loves to watch most all sports, especially college sports, following the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. She enjoys walking, hiking and traveling around the United States.
Zac Sawyer
Account Consultant
Zac serves as the Account Consultant for GPS in Columbia, Newberry, and the surrounding areas. Born and raised in Columbia, he is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned his degree in Sports Management. Since joining GPS in 2025, Zac has focused on building and strengthening client relationships, while also supporting recruiting efforts and enhancing candidate engagement.
Family is Zac’s greatest motivator, both personally and professionally. He strives to grow and improve every day—not only for those at home, but also to consistently uphold GPS’ core values. Outside of work, Zac enjoys golfing, occasionally watching Carolina football, and spending time walking his dog, Luna.
