Safety Tips:

  • GPS wants you to go HOME to your family in the same condition as you went to work! June is GPS Safety Month! Safety is Everybody’s job, My job, Your Job!
  • Machine operators should not wear jewelry or loose clothing to work for risk of getting caught in the machines.
  • If you are injured while on assignment immediately call Medcor and your local GPS office.
  • GPS is your employer not the company that you are assigned.
  • DO NOT OPERATE ANY EQUIPMENT OR MACHINE THAT YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED TO OPERATE.
  • Never overload an electrical outlet even if you have a surge protector available.
  • Never remove any machine guards. Guards are in place to protect you!
  • Slips/Trips and Falls be alert and aware of your surroundings so that you do not fall to the ground.
  • Always pay attention in safety orientations and safety meetings. Something you learn in these meetings could save your life!
  • Perform only those duties for which you have been trained.
  • GPS wants you to go HOME to your family in the same condition as you went to work!   Safety is Everybody’s job, my job, your job!
  • Wear all PPE that is provided to you while on the job, even if you think you look funny or think it is too hot for that PPE!
  • Obey all safety rules while on your assignment.
  • GPS Safety Hotline- report any safety concerns anonymously 803-760-1441
  • Only lift up to 45 lbs. alone. If the weight is over 45 lbs., ask for assistance.
  • All computer monitors should be at eye level to avoid neck and eye strain.
  • Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Watch for signs of heat illness this summer!
  • Never text and drive at the same time.
  • Never drive through flooded roads.
  • When operating a forklift pay attention to your surroundings and the weight of your load.
