Your Role with the Company
- This position requires EXTENSIVE TRAVEL
- Responsible for daily overall on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site
- Coordinate all office activity as it applies to current or pending jobs
- Supervise total construction effort to ensure projectis constructed in accordance with design, budge, and schedule
- Oversee all company field personnel, union personnel (if applicable), subcontractors and interface with client representative, Engineering, other contractors, etc.
- Plan, coordinate, supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control); report daily progress to the Project Coordinator
- Provide technical assistance by interpreting drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment
- Negotiate union involvement for any job as needed
- Attend any and all job=specific meetings and all weekly planning sessions as may be required
- Maintain weekly written job and personnel scheduling for a floating three-week period
- Negotiate and prepare all field change orders associated with additional materials and labor necessary for completion of all jobs
- Comprehend each project’s budget; review and write reports monthly detailing job cost and projected costs-to-completion of all in progress and closed –this –period jobs
- Review all architectural, engineering, and electrical drawings prior to project commencement; report all changes to the Director of Construction and/or the Director of Engineering as well as to Architectural Services
- Coordinate buyouts for each job with Project Coordinator
- Implement all safety procedures associated with the project; conduct weekly safety meetings as mandated; document all violations and notify management; recommend and /or implement corrective actions as required.
- Comprehend, observe and enforce all company policies and discipline
- Travel to job sites, as mandated
- Make all field corrections to on-site shop drawings and return them to the Construction Coordinator marked ‘As Builts’
- Motivate all personnel to junction as a cohesive organization
- Perform additional assignments per Project Coordinator’s direction
Background Profile
- Know, or have the desire to learn, refrigeration and electrical design and installation
- Understand thoroughly all construction practices and codes, safety procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Electrical & Mechanical knowledge
- Construction Management a plus
- Project Management
- Drafting experience
- Strong commitment to travel
- Bilingual a plus
- Open to qualified recent college graduates
- Willingness to travel for extended periods of time – Road Warrior
