GPS is currently recruiting highly motivated, ready to work candidates for the following positions in or near Walterboro:

  • Press Machine Operators (*see job details below)
  • Forklift Operators (*see job details below)
  • General Laborers (1-2 years solid work experience)

GPS will perform E-verify, criminal background screen, and pre-employment drug test.  High School Diploma or equivalent is REQUIRED.

Press Machine Operator

Press Machine Operator is responsible for the preparation, running, and basic maintenance on the press equipment to ensure the timely and quality delivery of printed products.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare the press for printing; perform all start-up checks as assigned.
  • Maintain the press in operational conditions.
  • Check all maintenance requirements and ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
  • Set and maintain water levels of the machine.
  • Prepare the plates and products for loading on the press.
  • Assure the ink system is in working order and ready for production.
  • Perform other manual labor job-related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work with machinery in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure with daily deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work with machinery.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Understand basic production safety requirements and the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Experience:  At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.  At least 1 year of machine operating experience

Education:  High School Diploma or GED

Working Conditions:

  • Constant standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, repetitive motions, eye/foot/hand coordination
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, balancing, crouching, grasping
  • Constant exposure to noise

Hours: 7:00AM – 4:00PM, 1st Shift Position.

$10.00-$13.00/hour starting pay depending on level of experience

 

Forklift Operator (Walterboro, SC)

Forklift Operators needed for local Walterboro, SC manufacturing facility. Will operate forklift to assist team members in picking, staging, loading, unloading, rotation and storage of product.

Essential Functions:

Utilize standard forklift and other material handling equipment to:

  • Load and unload products.
  • Transport products to and from warehouse.
  • Store products in proper position in the warehouse.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic math skills to count product.
  • Forklift certification OR ability to become certified (company provided).
  • Must be age 18 or older to operate forklift and electric pallet jack.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.

Experience:  At least 1 year of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or logistics setting

Education:  High School Diploma or GED

Working Conditions:

  • This position works in a fast pace manufacturing/warehouse setting.
  • Exposure to moving machinery such as forklifts and production equipment.
  • Exposure to loud noise from moving forklifts and production equipment.

Long-term position. 

Hours: 7:00AM – 4:00PM or 8:00AM – 5:00PM, 1st Shift Position

$12.00/hour
